Bad news: went to the doctor and found out I put on ten pounds since he last saw me- in March.
Good news: decided to ride my new bike that IG influenced me to buy (which has been parked in my garage for two weeks by the way) to get some exercise.
Bad news: I’m now too tired after riding to clean the 🏡.

Most times when I read a book, I can tell you exactly which of my students I would recommend the book to. But this book was for me.. @acevedowrites thank you for writing a book to let me know I’m not crazy on those Sundays when I cook Jamaican brown stew chicken and rice and peas and can feel myself transform back to my grandmother’s home in the countryside of Jamaica. Cooking for many Caribbean cultures is like a portal to the past connecting us to so many and what a wonderfully written reminder of this and of the most important tradition in African culture: it takes a village.

I read A LOT of PD books. I’m a knowledge nerd 🤷🏽‍♀️ and the knowledge that the book “Culturally Responsive Teaching and the Brain” shared should be required reading for ALL teachers. It affirms the work and my belief systems as an educator. It challenged me to do better and up my game because ultimately what my students need is someone who can teach them, want to teach them, and knows how to reach them.
